How to add two-factor authentication to Google Apps for your Domain using open source software
Author: nowen • Tags: centos, email, fedora, security • Comments: 2How to add two-factor authentication to Google Apps for your Domain using open source software Everybody loves GMail. With Google Apps for you Domain, you can use GMail with your own domain, allowing organizations to outsource their email - and the requisite anti-spam filtering to Google. Webmail is very convenient, but for frequent travellers and those who use public wifi, it can be quite dangerous. Logging in from a kiosk or shared computer is a sure way to get your username and password stolen by a keystroke logger. Using a public WiFi system can lead to a man-in-the-middle attack. In this document we will take advantage of two open source projects to add two-factor authentication to Google Apps. The first is Gheimdall, a a TurboGears project for Google Apps SSO service. Gheimdall supports PAM and LDAP authentication natively. It also includes sample code to add new authentication methods, which made it very easy to add two-factor authentication from WiKID. WiKID is a dual-source two-factor authentication solution that uses public key cryptography to strongly authenticate users.

Author: Till Brehm • Tags: antivirus, debian, email, ubuntu • Comments: 4Filtering PDF-/XLS-/Image-Spam With ClamAV (And ISPConfig) On Debian/Ubuntu There is currently a lot of spam where the spam "information" is attached as .pdf or .xls files, sometime also hidden inside a .zip file. While these spam mails are not easy to catch with e.g. SpamAssassin or a Bayes filter, the ClamAV virus scanner can catch them easily when it is fed with the correct signatures as ClamAV is built to scan mail attachments.

Converting All Your MS Outlook PST Files To Maildir Format
Author: nicc777 • Tags: email • Comments: 3Converting All Your MS Outlook PST Files To Maildir Format One of the challenges you may face when converting an office from Microsoft Windows to Linux is that many people archive their e-mail in PST files. There are PST tools available, but most of them are commercial, since the PST file format is closed and protected by Microsoft. There are several non-commercial methods to achieve roughly the same goal, and in this tutorial we use IMAP (more specifically, courier-imap) to convert all our e-mails from PST to the Maildir format. The advantage of this approach is that you also lay the foundation for a new mail system, with all your old e-mails already imported the day you switch over.
