I've used SuSE Studio to build images for a while now. I didn't see it in my quick scan of the article, but you can import Autoyast and Kiwi files (think of Studio as a web based Kiwi). The hardest part is making sure you select all the packages you need. For the most part, dependancy tracking is pretty good. Sometimes you may have to tweak the packages a bit. Take advantage of test drive option on the build menu. You can do an install in Studio to test your image before downloading it.

Tip: If you happen to build an image and aren't sure what the dependancies are for an application you can build your image with out the application and install it. Then you can install the app and look at /var/log/zypp/history and see what packages were added during the installation. After that just go back and add the packages to your build.
