Comments on Virtual Hosting With Proftpd And MySQL (Incl. Quota) On Ubuntu 8.10

This document describes how to install a Proftpd server that uses virtual users from a MySQL database instead of real system users. This is much more performant and allows to have thousands of ftp users on a single machine. In addition to that I will show the use of quota with this setup.

Hi,

you can either change the keyboard layout (see https://www.howtoforge.com/changing-language-and-keyboard-layout-on-various-linux-distributions), or you connect to the virtual machine with an SSH client such as PuTTY. The SSH client uses your client PC's keyboard layout.

Hello All, and thanks before hand for help.. I am a subscriber and have downloaded the VM image of this how-to BUT the keyboard map is funky like the "/" character is a shift-7. I have tried dpkg-reconfigure console-setup BUT it asks lots of questions i had NO clue about.. Thanks again.
