Couldn't find Brasero in the EPEL or centos repos.
yum-helper (python gui rpm manager) is gone. Gnome-packmanager core-dumped.
GREAT INFO
I'm sorry but this is not a desktop suitable for a corporate environment. These are the points I would be at least looking for:- Central package management (i.e. Spacewalk integration)- Central authentication (integration with AD via samba or LDAP)- Access control an doffline profiles- Virus scanner management- Integration with other enterprise technologies (Citrix, WebEx, Exchange, File shares, SSO, etc)
Your tutorial only shows how to install a desktop. I understand that this might bust the scope of the tutorial but at least some essential parts are missing.
If you had a car that ran on sea water and was able to drive all day on a single liter, it would be incredible, right? Unfortunately, it's pretty hard to find a sea water fueling station when you're driving across a continent, and it's hard to find a mechanic that understands how to maintain your engine. Linux in the corporate world is a lot like this. From a technology perspective, it's undeniably better than Windows in every way (performance, reliability, security, scalability, etc.), but compatibility has been a big source of inertia in the world of corporate software. Programs like IFS Enterprise Explorer and Skype for Business do not run on Linux and do not have acceptable alternatives (yet). Instead, we continue to drive steam-powered "horseless carriages" because we know where to find coal.
Perhaps domain join would be a nice feature to add especially in a corporate environment
Thank you!
