Comments on How to backup your Ubuntu Desktop with DejaDup
Déjà Dup is a nice graphical wrapper around the command line backup tool duplicity. It hides the complexity of backing up the Right Way (encrypted, off-site, and regular) and uses duplicity as the back end. Déjà Dup does not use cron or similar schedulers. Rather, it starts a program deja-dup-monitor when you log into your session. This keeps track of when you last successfully backed up and will wait until the next scheduled backup.

I created a backup just as described in this article, only I did NOT set a password. However when I try to restore the files, I am prompted for a password. Now I can't restore the files.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Hey there, thanks a lot for this nice article, I have a question related to restoring data, I've done the backup the same way it has been described here, and the location was an external USB device.
Now after I've upgraded to 17.04(from 16.04), I'm not able to make the restoration happening! It does restore successfully, but I see now changes in my newest Ubuntu, any replay I'd be greatful to it!
Thanks.
Perhaps you could explain how to back up ubuntu in English.
Given: Deja Dup doesn't work. It NEVER completes a backup. ALWAYS FAILS.
Given: 99% of users DON'T Have an advanced degree in Computer Science.
