The Perfect Desktop - OpenSUSE 12.2 (GNOME Desktop) This tutorial shows how you can set up an OpenSUSE 12.2 desktop that is a full-fledged replacement for a Windows desktop, i.e. that has all the software that people need to do the things they do on their Windows desktops. The advantages are clear: you get a secure system without DRM restrictions that works even on old hardware, and the best thing is: all software comes free of charge.

There needs to be an application that will execute MS Access forms and manipulate Access databases. Until such an application is available a Linux desktop will not be a completely full replacement for a Windows desktop.
Would it also not be complete if it doesn't go to Windows Update to fetch its RPMs?
There's mdbtools and OpenOffice offers some mdb functionality as well via ODBC. I would imagine they would be beyond the scope of a desktop replacement guide.
