Just wanted to make a note that I had much success with this tutorial. I have a LAMP server based of a combination of other tutorials you made for 9.10 and was 100% successful with this upgrade. Only difference was I was prompted multiple times to replace or keep config files for various daemons like apache, mysql, pure-ftpd etc which I chose to keep my modified versions (default option) and everything worked like a charm. I also installed an Alfresco/Tomcat package on my own and didn't have any issues there either outside of those known for Alfresco Community 3.2r.
Thanks!
wow.. this seems like an extremely easy process. I was thinking that I would have to reinstall the OS all over again. I am glad I came across this article. Thanks :)
Watch out! Some apps not working with PHP 5.3
All i did was, change karmic to lucid in /etc/apt/sources.list
apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade
and i was done
just a tip, if you do this remote.
first apt-get install screen openssh-server
and run screen first before you upgrade your server.
