Comments on How to theme GNOME Shell 3.16 (in five simple steps)
So, you have installed your brand new GNOME Shell desktop environment and it certainly looks indisputably cool as it is. Using it for quite some time though may make this sexy top panel look dull and your icon set look dusty. These are signs that it is time for a change, so here's a guide on how to quickly (and easily) change the appearance of your GNOME Shell desktop using refreshing theming.

Thank you very much :)
Thanks for the tutorial!
please can someone help a technologically challenged - well, me!!! I have followed all the steps in the above tutorial to add more themes -specifically for icons - but nothing works. Nothing that I have tried in regard to the instructions above! I am running Fedora 25 with Gnome 3.24.3. Updates are all done etc., in regard to the following instruction: Now all that you have to do is to open the Tweak Tool again and go to the “Appearance” tab. Press the “locate” button and search for the downloaded theme. This should install your new theme in the proper directory (/.themes/)" there is no locate button in the appearance tab section! Please can someone help me to get new themes. I would be every so greatful!
OK! Very good, however what I would like to create my own theme for the GNOME Shell.

There is a syntax error in the theme that you try to install. Use a different theme or ask the author who build that theme to fix it.
