Generating Web Site Statistics With AWStats & JAWStats On Debian Lenny This tutorial explains how you can generate statistics for your web site with AWStats and JAWStats on a Debian Lenny web server. AWStats is a free powerful and featureful tool that generates advanced web server statistics. JAWStats runs in conjunction with AWStats and produces clear and informative charts, graphs and tables about your website visitors. AWStats is able to create graphical web pages for the statistics, but JAWStats presents this data in a much nicer way - it's much better organized and makes use of Ajax and Flash.

Falko,
I really like the web interface provided by JAWStats. How hard would it be to integrate this tutorial into a Perfect Server ISPConfig3 setup?
I use AWstats for my load balanced RoR apps too. I use mongrel and pound together to make this happen. Follow the installation instructions above, then point the log analyzer at the pound LB-logs. It is a little more complex, since you need to modify the syslog.conf to get pound logs the way we want them. For more details ... Getting Syslog, Pound and Mongrel to work with Awstats. Anyway, I hope this helps someone.
AWStats has been around for a very long time and is a long trusted stats counter that I still use across all my websites today.
