Comments on Web Based Project Management With Collabtive On Ubuntu 7.10 Server
Web Based Project Management With Collabtive On Ubuntu 7.10 Server Project management is becoming an increasingly important part of the Sys Admin's life. While Microsoft Project seems to be the standard project management tool used in most environments that I have worked in, it can sometimes be nice to have such tools web based so that multiple users can share information. This is where tools such as Collabtive come in. Collabtive is a web based project management tool that supports everything that you need to plan out and complete your projects.

Me using Collabtive on Ubuntu about 6 months and still happy that there no critical issues since it was launched on out server.
Recommend to alternative web based project management tools its called 5PM.
I don't really think that MS project is the one that people use mostly. I don't know but I guess it's not the standard software that people want. With the growing business that a company handles, they really need a project management software that can handle changes, upgrades and problems that may happen at any time.
I see that one recommended 5PM, it's actually featured as on of the alternatives for project management software in this blog: http://www.timedoctor.com/blog/2011/02/02/43-project-management-software-alternatives
You can find a comparison table there which you can suggest to add your choice of software to be included in the list.
I would also recommende another web based agile project management software which is Gemini. It's an award-winning software developed by Countersoft
Hi. We are trying Collabtive. Its much better if they develop a Bug Tracker system for it.
Few days ago we moved from Collabtive to another bug tracking tools at Bontq. We need other hosted solution without to maintain a local server is too expensive.
We at Open Dynamics (the company that develops Collabtive) do offer a hosting service for Collabtive. :)
MS Project is good but it's expensive. From what I've noticed, many people use basecamp because of its simplicity. I use a project management software package called Latitude which has features that helps me to better manage my team and projects. It tracks clients information as well as manage my documents such as emails, letters, spreadsheets and drawings. It also saves me time since it has can produce invoice from job costs and employee timesheets.
For me, I use TABB. I think some web app is more convenient.
RationalPlan is well suited for project management. It has several products listed in the Ubuntu Software Center. For collaboration the Server module can be used either as on premise or as SAAS.
