Open-Source Classroom Management With iTALC On Ubuntu 7.10 This document describes how to set up iTALC on Ubuntu 7.10. iTALC is an open-source classroom management solution that lets you view and control other computers in your network. It lets you remote-control other computers, show the teacher's screen on all students' computers, lock workstations, send text-messages to students, power on/off and reboot remote computers, etc.

I found this article to be very interesting and after reading this I checked why there was no such package in Debian or Ubuntu. But there is one.
Why did you use self-compiled italc instead of already available binary?
Hi TumorMozgowicz,
because the version in the Ubuntu repository (v1.02, released 2007/04/04) has more bugs than I can list here :)
Best regards,
Olli
Great howto... thanks...
turns out that Hardy includes v1.07... same as ur howto...
libitalc_1.0.7-0ubuntu2_i386.deb
italc-master_1.0.7-0ubuntu2_i386.deb
italc-client_1.0.7-0ubuntu2_i386.deb
looks like we could use the packages in the repository
hi, i like use it with alternative litemanager software for remote control in classroom, because it is more tools for management with free functionals, id connect and other.
