Comments on How to install Snap applications on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Ubuntu 16.04LTS was released by Canonical back in April last year. Among some of the key new features it brought, one was a new packaging format dubbed Snap. The feature has since only been available on Ubuntu 16.04. But that changed earlier this month, when the team behind the feature at Canonical announced that users of Ubuntu 14.04 can also use the new packaging format.

I'm running Linux Mint 17.3 on my primary desktop. There are a couple of dependencies that require the following:
Upgrade the following packages:
1) libpam-systemd [204-5ubuntu20.15linuxmint1 (now, rosa) -> 204-5ubuntu20.24 (trusty-updates)]
2) libsystemd-daemon0 [204-5ubuntu20.15linuxmint1 (now, rosa) -> 204-5ubuntu20.24 (trusty-updates)]
3) libsystemd-journal0 [204-5ubuntu20.15linuxmint1 (now, rosa) -> 204-5ubuntu20.24 (trusty-updates)]
4) libsystemd-login0 [204-5ubuntu20.15linuxmint1 (now, rosa) -> 204-5ubuntu20.24 (trusty-updates)]
5) systemd-services [204-5ubuntu20.15linuxmint1 (now, rosa) -> 204-5ubuntu20.24 (trusty-updates)]
Luckily, I run a BTRFS on my / filesystem and therefore I'm gonna run a btrfs snapshot to see if migrating from these Linux Mint Packages to the Ubuntu Equivalent Packages have any adverse effect.
Wish me luck!
