Enabling Compiz Fusion On An Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200) This tutorial shows how you can enable Compiz Fusion on an Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) desktop (the system must have a 3D-capable graphics card - I'm using an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 here). I didn't try it on 10.04 but it worked on previous versions (enable/disable compiz without logout)

To disable: # DISPLAY=$DISPLAY metacity –replace &
To enable: # DISPLAY=$DISPLAY compiz –replace &
