In this tutorial, I will guide you trough the installation of an NFS server on CentOS 7, then we will add the NFS share as a storage option in the Proxmox server so that it can be used as backup space the virtual machines.

Does not seem to work with CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 VM (fresh install). When using:
systemctl start nfs-server
it returns:
A dependency job for nfs-server.service failed. See 'journalctl -xe' for details.
and:
# journalctl -xeNov 08 09:45:05 myhost systemd[1]: Dependency failed for RPC security service for NFS server.-- Subject: Unit rpc-svcgssd.service has failed-- Defined-By: systemd....
Your configuartion in /etc/exports is probably incorrect
Patrick, i too am having the same issue with a CentOS 7 release, though the error does seem to be slightly different (denied mounting Huge Pages FS.
May 11 20:28:14 nfs mount[37]: mount: permission denied
May 11 20:28:14 nfs systemd[1]: dev-hugepages.mount mount process exited, code=exited status=32
May 11 20:28:14 nfs systemd[1]: Failed to mount Huge Pages File System.
-- Subject: Unit dev-hugepages.mount has failed
concerning the suggestion from Huzar, the error occurs before this guide directs us to modify the /etc/exports file, but i still had this issue after making the modification.i had a great deal of hope as this article seemed well written and covered the bases. but at this point i am stuck.any thoughts/ideas from anyone is greatly appreciated. : )
thanx, good tutorial
I followed the tutorial and it works except the NFS share is just 60GB. The NFS server has a total of 4TB. How do i increase the size of NFS share?
I figured out the problem. The shared directory must be created in the /home not in the/var. If you create directory /home/nfsproxmox then you have access to the entire partition sda3 partition.
Thanks for this tutorial.I've tried it but had several problem.
1st of all, when I set a backup, Proxmox permit to select only local storage, not the configured NFS storage
2nd I've prepared the shared directory in /share/proxmox and I could only seen 18Gb insead 100Gb of disk
Could you send me a suggestion ?
Best Regards
