OpenERP Server Installation On Fedora 11
This article will show you how to set up OpenERP on Fedora 11. Open ERP (formerly named Tiny ERP) is the leader open-source ERP/CRM system written mostly in Python and initiated in Belgium. It offers a three-tier web architecture, ease of use and flexibility.
Grab the Super User Access:
su root
Enable EPEL Repo:
su -c 'rpm -Uvh http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/i386/epel-release-5-3.noarch.rpm'
yum update
Update the Installation Repository.
Start Installing Packages.
yum install postgresql-server
yum install postgresql
If the default database instance is not created then you need to init the db.
su root
su postgres
initdb /var/lib/pgsql/data
su postgres
psql -l
yum install python-psycopg2
yum install python-lxml
yum install PyXML
yum install python-setuptools-devel
easy_install egenix-mx-base
yum install libxslt-python
yum install pytz
yum install python-matplotlib

wget http://openerp.com/download/stable/source/openerp-server-5.0.1-0.tar.gz
tar -xvf openerp-server-5.0.1-0.tar.gz
cd openerp-server-5.0.1-0
python openerp-server.py
wget http://openerp.com/download/stable/source/openerp-client-5.0.1-0.tar.gz
tar -xvf openerp-client-5.0.1-0
cd openerp-client-5.0.1-0
python openerp-client.py
