Did you try active mode as well in your FTP client?

    Hi Falko,

I used the fizilla client, and it work fine with regular ftp, I follow your guide for the centos 5.1 using proftp it work fine.

Now I want to test it with this vsftp, I try both passive and active still get the same thing, I did google, came to several info, may realted to ports and nat. strange.

Any way, I came across one of you guid proftp for debain useing tls. can this be done on centos.

    thanks.

What's in /etc/vsftpd.conf? Did you forward the ports 20 and 21 from your router to the server?

Basically yes, although I cannot say what has to be changed in the guide to make it work on CentOS.
