    Hi ek49,

these problems were caused by the already patched module sources from your F8 installation. In order that the new patch works you have to...

    1. Deinstall VMware Server
    2. Delete the directory (rm -Rf /usr/lib/vmware/)
    3. Install VMware Server as described in the howto

    Best regards,

    Olli

    Ok
but before I do that ...
will I lose any appliance I have?
I installed a windows XP pro and I do Not want to lose that.
    not a downloaded appliance.

    Hi ek49,

if your virtual machines are located somwhere in the path (/usr/lib/vmware/...) move them away before you delete the directory. You can copy them back after you re-installed vmware or start them from the new location.

    Best regards,

    Olli
