    HI
I keep getting "Your changes cannot be saved because this item is currently being updated. Please try again later." while trying to make any changes.
I checked a few threads and came up with this:

[[email protected] ~]# ls -la /root/ispconfig
    total 96
    drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 4096 Oct 17 10:03 ./
    drwx------ 17 root root 4096 Oct 17 10:06 ../
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 33395 Sep 28 11:02 cronolog*
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 9673 Sep 28 11:02 cronosplit*
    drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 4096 Sep 28 10:21 httpd/
    drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 4096 Sep 28 11:02 isp/
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct 17 10:06 .ispconfig_lock
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct 5 09:30 .old_path_httpd_root
    drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Sep 28 10:16 openssl/
    drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Sep 28 10:44 php/
    drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Sep 28 11:02 scripts/
    drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Sep 28 11:02 standard_cgis/
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Sep 28 11:02 sv/
    -rwx------ 1 root root 9389 Sep 28 11:02 uninstall*

    [[email protected] ~]# rm -f /root/ispconfig/.ispconfig_lock

    [[email protected] ~]# /root/ispconfig/php/php /root/ispconfig/scripts/writeconf.php

ls: /etc/httpd/conf.d/*.conf: No such file or directory
ls: /etc/httpd/conf/vhosts.d/*.conf: No such file or directory
    start
    Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Does this mean that my websites (2) that I have added have not been set up correctly?
I have set up one ISP Config Server and it's running 4 websites no problems, I set this one up exactly the same way, and Problems.
I used the Perfect Mandriva 2006 on both.
    Thanks
    Cambo

Did you update ISPConfig to version 2.2.7?

    Hi Till and Falko
First - I decided to do the upgrade before trying Till's patch.
Second - Patch wasn't needed as the upgrade sorted out the problem.
Third - Thanks for the best site on the web! :)

    You guys rock! :D

    Arrhhg

    Whoops. I spoke too soon.
I did a server reboot and everything broke.
Can't even get the ISPConfig site on port 81.
I will try the patch mentioned by Till.

    (You guys still rock though)

I dont think it is nescessary to patch! If you can not reach the server on port 81, the problem is not related to that segfault.

    Please execute:

    /etc/init.d/ispconfig_server start

    Hi Till
Thanks. It started. I don't why it didn't on the reboot.
However, I still got a segmentation fault, so I ran the patch.
Guess what? I still have a segmentation fault.
I wonder should I just Format, do a Mandriva 2007 perfect install and a clean ISPConfig 2.2.7 install?

I recommend that you check your server hardware with memcheck. it is in the boot menu of the first CD in most linux distributions.

You know, I was actually starting to think to myself that it may be a hardware issue and then you posted this reply. :)
I will investigate when I am at the clients site next.
Thanks for your help so far. I really appreciate it.
(I don't know how you guys get to eat, sleep, etc. )
    Regards

Well I memchecked the server and it passed with no errors. I also checked that all the latest firmware available was in place (it was). Can't find any obvious hardware issues, so it's back to trying a software solution. I am thinking to start from scratch with Mandriva 2007 PI + latest ISPConfig.

I think that's the best solution.

    Solution

Just to finish off this thread.
I did a Mandriva Perfect 2007 install with the latest ISPConfig and everything worked fine. This server is now in production.
I can only assume there were compatibility problems with the old install.
    Thanks for everyone's efforts.
