I was teaching a guy to build a howtoforge perfect server setup using the debian squeeze with ISPconfig 3 and we've hit a snag. It appears as though everything is working, however, I'm unable to authenticate against the email server. I have included the main.cf for reference. Any questions, just let me know and thanks in advance for any suggestions. Cheers! ken # See /usr/share/postfix/main.cf.dist for a commented, more complete version # Debian specific: Specifying a file name will cause the first # line of that file to be used as the name. In mail log there is the following; Code: Apr 26 17:05:02 propertyboss postfix/master[9007]: warning: process /usr/lib/postfix/smtpd pid 9046 exit status 1 Apr 26 17:05:02 propertyboss postfix/master[9007]: warning: /usr/lib/postfix/smtpd: bad command startup -- throttling Apr 26 17:05:30 propertyboss postfix/master[9007]: terminating on signal 15 Apr 26 17:05:30 propertyboss postfix/master[9161]: daemon started -- version 2.7.1, configuration /etc/postfix Apr 26 17:05:33 propertyboss imapd: Connection, ip=[::ffff:192.168.100.44] Apr 26 17:05:33 propertyboss imapd: Connection, ip=[::ffff:192.168.100.44] Apr 26 17:05:33 propertyboss imapd: LOGIN FAILED, [email protected], ip=[::ffff:192.168.100.44] Apr 26 17:05:33 propertyboss imapd: LOGIN FAILED, [email protected], ip=[::ffff:192.168.100.44] Apr 26 17:05:38 propertyboss imapd: Disconnected, ip=[::ffff:192.168.100.44], time=5 Apr 26 17:05:38 propertyboss imapd: Disconnected, ip=[::ffff:192.168.100.44], time=5 There are no messages in the mail.err and pretty much the same thing in mail.info that is above. At first I found in the mail.err log that my helper had not installed postfix-mysql where I did. After that nothing else would happen other than what you see above. Thanks, Ken
