    Hi to all.

I need to upgrafe my php version 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.21 on my ubuntu vps 10.04.4 64bit with the latest php version with APC php cache to speed up my joomla! websites that now are for some reason slow..

    I have found this how-to: http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-us...fpm-and-fastcgi-with-ispconfig-3-ubuntu-13.04

that start compiling the php version 5.3.24 and after the 5.4.14 version.

    Questions:
    - I can follow this howto made for Ubuntu 13.04 on my 10.04?
    - I can avoid the first howto step where it install the old 5.3 php version and go directly to the 5.4.14 with APC?

I need to upgrade php for joomla! with APC support to speed-up large joomla! websites that now are really slow..
Now I'm working with the JOTcache extension and a cronjob script that create the static pages for the whole websites...a solution that is only temporary and not usable for website with interactive users that needs services from application that can't be cachable...

    Thanks for the attention.
    Waiting for ideas and opinions.

    Best regards.
