    Hello

I have a question about The Perfect Setup - Ubuntu 6.10 Server (Edgy Eft),
At first i want to say i really like the howto, thanks! It is very useful.
But now i have a problem, when i send mail via squirrelmail to my other email, it says: 'from: web6_*name*@example.com
I think i made a mistake and copied the text '@example.com' without
changing it to my own hostname.
Do you know what i have to change or where i can change it?

Thanks, and i hope you understand what i mean, my english is not that
    good.

    With frienly regards,
    Marinus

Please change the hostname in the file /etc/postfix/main.cf and in /etc/mailname. Change it also in /etc/hostname and the run:

    hostname -F /etc/hostname

Well, that files where both good, then i ran the command

But it still gives 'from: web6_*name*@example.com'

    restarted postfix, didn't work too

You need to set the return address manually in Squirrelmail under the options.

    Hello,

I have quite the same problem, but I have a Suse 10.1 perfect setup / ISPConfig 2.28 Server running.
When I send mails from squirrelmail I also get webXX_*name*@example.com as the senders' address.

But I do not have the /etc/mailname and /etc/hostname files. How can I fix it?
And is there really no possibility to make squirrelmail change webXX_*name* into the according accountname automatically?

    Thank you,
    regards, Tom

No, because you can use whatever return address you want and thus maintain multiple identities / email addresses.
You don't need those to set the return address to your personal requirements in Squirrelmail

    Hi,

You mean I can change the '@example.com' part there, too?

    Thanks,
    Tom
