I'm following the howto guide outlined here:

While following this guide, when I was supposed to connect to port 25 using telnet, I did not get the expected results. I got no results. No error message, no nothing, I could type anything I wanted, and I got no feedback. I had to quit by pressing ctrl-] and then type "quit" to get out of the telnet console. Since this was just for postfix, and it didn't seem to prevent postfix from starting, I ignored it and moved on.

Now I've followed the guide to the end, ISPconfig2 is installed and running, and all seems well... except postfix won't start. I get the following error message:

shell-init: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory
    Starting mail service (Postfix) failed

Any errors in your mail log?

I'm sure there were, but I've given up. I've moved on to opensuse 11.2 + ISPConfig3 now, and I have a whole new set of problems.
