    Hi,

How I can change the default email server address. The current default address is "root@localhost.localdomain". I'd like to change to "postmaster@mydomain.com".

    Thanks!!

The email address root@localhost.localdomain is a email delivery to the Linux root user e.g. by cron or other system software. If you like to redirect email that is for the root system user to a different address, then you can do that in the /etc/aliases file. Run the command "newaliases" afterwards to apply the change.

    Hi,
I used the how to notes to setup the ispconfig3 from fresh install, I would like to change root@localhost.localdomain to the hostname that was setup when installing the control panel, example: root@server1.example.com

I dont why this localhost.localdomain exist, is it important?

as the problem is i test to see if mail works but forwarding the welcome email in the inbox to my personal email , and its says sent from postmaster@localhost.localdomain but i was this to be the server name?
