I'm a newbee in this forum.
I have followed the instructions on the pages "The Perfect Setup - OpenSuSE 10.2 (32-bit)".

Comming to page 5, Adding Installation Sources, I din't change it and leave it as it was. Becouse I din't have that machine on the internet. Going on with step 3: Install Some Software.

On number 5, DNS server, I run into a fail. Running: "yast2 -i bind bind-chrootenv bind-devel bind-utils". It starts wel and than it stops: "can not find bind-devel".

    I stoped the installation.

Is it possible that that piece of software not is included in the downloaded version ? How can I solve this problem ? Please be patience with me.

I see bind, bind-chrootnv, bind-docs, bind-libs and bind-utils. Only bind-libs and bind-utils have a "i" in the first colomb. They have been installed. The others not.

I think you can go on without bind-devel.

The next fail I get is the postfix telnet communication. (Page 6. Chapter 7.)
    You get the next lines:
    Now restart Postfix:
    '
    /etc/init.d/postfix restart
    '
To see if SMTP-AUTH and TLS work properly now run the following command:
    '
    telnet localhost 25
    '
    reaction:
    '
    trying 127.0.0.1...
    Connected to localhost.
    Escape character is '^]'
    connection closed by foreign host
    '
The localhost kick me of line:
    Second try:
    '
    telnet localhost 25
    trying 127.0.0.1...
    Connected to localhost.
    Escape character is '^]'
    '
    I don't get a prompt
Just waiting a couple seconds and than typing:
    '
    ehlo localhost{CR}
    '
    Waiting for a answer..........
    nothing.
    after a while:
    '
    Connection closed by foreign host
    '
So, something must be wrong. I don't see a list of lines.

Any errors in your mail log?

Where can I find that mail log ?
    Is it :
    /var/log/mail ?
    I found :
unknown SASL security optionvalue 'noanonymous' in 'noanonymous'
    bad per-session security properties
So I rewrite the line "postconf -e 'smtpd_sasl_security_options = noanonymous'"
    and resart postfix.
/var/log/mail : missing the 2 lines above. Last line : daemon started

    connected to local host:
    220 server1.example.com ESMTP Postfix

Is that correct ? It is the only line I get.

So far so good. Thanks for the help.

On the last page it comes to the installation of ISPConfig.
    A different sheet. < http://www.ispconfig.org/manual_installation.htm >
Overthere Is a question about entries in the dist.txt.
There are 21 lines for SuSE 10.2 Do I have to change some ?

    Have a nice day
