I am somewhat confused on how alias email addresses get the spam policy.

    I changed the
normal spam policy to SPAM tag2 level 6.9
trigger happy to SPAM tag2 level 4

Say I have create the domain mydomain.com and set it to normal.

Create said user me@mydomain.com and set it to trigger happy.

Now if I send mail to me@mydomain.com the headers show "X-Spam-Status: No, score=2.21 tagged_above=1 required=4" Ok its working

Now if I create an email alias myalias@mydomain.com and point it to me@mydomain.com the header reads "X-Spam-Status: No, score=2.21 tagged_above=1 required=6.9" Back to domain default normal spam policy not the main email account settings.

Shouldn't the alias inherit the spam policy of the main email account and not the domain?

If a recipient address does not exist in the spamfiletr users list, then amavisd uses the domain policy as fallback and if this does not exist, it will use the system defaults.

    I see now! :D

I was under the impression that aliases would somehow match the main email address.

Seems you have to also add them to Spamfilter Users section. This is what I wasn't doing.

Perhaps a cleaner way of adding the users to spamfilter at same time the alias is created would be helpful. Same way the Add New Mailbox function does. Just a check or something on email alias page.

    Thanks for your help
