Hi to all again, I've installed also an email server reading "PostfixCompleteVirtualMailSystemHowTo" on help.ubuntu.com, using PAM and Mysql authentication.
The POP3 server works great and I'm very proud of this two-weeks-kick-self-work :) but the SMTP makes me creazy.
Is there any Linux-guru could help me? Thanks! :) Enrico

Any errors in your mail log? What's in your main.cf?

    The log says:
    Feb 17 09:49:03 mywebsite postfix/smtpd[17266]: connect from unknown[5.237.x.x]
Feb 17 09:49:03 mywebsite postfix/smtpd[17266]: warning: unknown[5.237.x.x]: SASL LOGIN authentication failed: authentication failure
    Feb 17 09:49:03 mywebsite postfix/smtpd[17266]: disconnect from unknown[5.237.x.x]

Are you using the correct username? Should be an email address.

If the POP3 works I think I use the correct username. Yes, it's my mail name.surname@mydomain.it. I'm becoming creazy cause that smtp!!! :-(
