    Hi

I need to redirect an existing site to a new site whilst still preserving the old.

Which redirect type should I use on the existing site?

I never understand the flags and they're difficult to experiment with as changes seem to cache even after adjusting for a while.

    I was to achieve this:

    myoldsite.com

    redirects to

    sub.myoldsite.com

    whilst still preserving the domain.

    Make sense?

The current site was in mycurrentsite.com. The new site has been developed in sub.mycurrentsite.com - when a users browsers to mycurrentsite.com I was that to remain in the browser address bar but really point to sub.mycurrentsite.com whilst prepending the pages to the end of it.

Hope that's enough information to make sense.

After testing, mycurrentsite.com will be renamed to old.mycurrentsite.com and sub.mycurrentsite.com will be renamed to mycurrentsite.com!

Preserving the domain name is the default, so you dont use any redirect setting if the domain shall be preserved.
