redirect non www not working

    ISPconfig upgraded from previous version

    ok, the problem:

    websites before upgrade to have auto-subdomain www. enabled
    redirect - seo redirect set to domain.tld => www.domain.tld

    so those sites before still have in the address bar.

    new site's added, use same settings and they only display the site without seo redirect enabled.
    when i enable seo redirect page states:

    The page isn't redirecting properly

    Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

    It might be that a redirect rule in ispconfig conflicts with rules in the .htaccess file of the site.

    here is the .htaccess contents (wordpress)

    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
