I've always wondered why the default firewall for ISPConfig includes a rule for "Webmin port-10000 type-tcp" Do a lot of people run Webmin and ISPConfig simultaneously? Since they both do essentially the same thing it would seem unwise to me to do that. Is there any reason to leave port 10000 open if you are not running Webmin? I usually close it and have seen no ill effects so far.
First, port 10000 was closed in the firewall. Then we got many complaints from poeple "I Installed ISPConfig and now my server is dead ..." as they never used the shell before and we locked them out from webmin
One more thing about the firewall settings within ISPConfig: What i really don't like is that the port 443 for IMAP is closed, every time ISPConfig has been updated to the latest stable version. The result can be is that clients who use IMAP can not receive their mail anymore. Is it an idea to leave the IMAP port 443 open, like port 25 and 110?
