Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.

I have installed Pure-FTPd like this
yum install pure-ftpd
/usr/sbin/pure-config.pl /etc/pure-ftpd/pure-ftpd.conf
service pure-ftpd start
//i'm using the default pure-ftpd.conf

I've made the ftp usergroup
groupadd ftpgroup
useradd -g ftpgroup -d /dev/null -s /etc ftpuser
And I've added:
pure-pw useradd  username -u ftpuser -d /some.path/
pure-pw mkdb
What should I do to make it work?

OS: Fedora Core 7

Looking at the error in the logs is the way to begin debugging.
