I was wondering if their was any way to remove the name and version from proftpd hello response and just have the desired name displayed.

    from this:
    220 ProFTPD 1.3.0 Server ( Ftp Service)

    to something like this:
    220 ( Ftp Service)

I have been looking around for a answer, googled it ect. and cant seem to find anything that helps me to achieve this if its even possible. I might have just over looked it somewhere also, not sure.

Never mind I figured it out. I had to add it in /etc/proftpd_ispconfig.conf but I will ask when ispconfig is updated will that file be overwritten.

Yes, it will. Therefore you should modify the proftpd_ispconfig template in /root/ispconfig/isp/conf, or, if you have the latest ISPConfig version, create a modified proftpd_ispconfig.conf template in /root/ispconfig/isp/conf/customized_templates.

Thanks falko for the reply, I did figure that out I think. I modified proftpd_ispconfig.conf.master I belive in /root/ispconfig/isp/conf/ and copyed to /root/ispconfig/isp/conf/customized_templates.
So if I understand correctly then, the files I modify and copy to /root/ispconfig/isp/conf/customized_templates will remain active even after a update to the ispconfig?
