    hi all.

I'm an old windows admin who has become aware of linux.
Therefore, I am about to make a shared web and mail hosting.

I have followed this guide, and has also been mostly to work, except the FTP server.
    http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-centos-5.6-x86_64-ispconfig-2-p6
I have used Cent OS 5.7, could not finde 5.6 on DVD.

None of the users I create can log on nor root.

    What should I look for?

Any errors in your logs? Did you try both active and passive transfers in your FTP client?

    Did you install ISPConfig 2?

Logs are in the /var/log/ directory. Do you use the correct username (something like web1_someuser)?
