I've been using roundcube for about 2 years now and all of a sudden, as of today, i am unable to send email with RoundCube.

The error i get in Roundcube states that 553 SMTP Authentication failed.

In the errors file i find :
    Code:
[23-Sep-2011 14:09:51 +0200]: SMTP Error: SMTP error: Authentication failure: Invalid response code received from server (Code: 535) in /var/www/htdocs/roundcube/program/steps/mail/func.inc on line 1501 (POST /?_unlock=loading1316779791192?_task=mail&_action=send)
[23-Sep-2011 14:37:12] Invalid response code received from server (535):

    in my /var/log/mail.warn logfile i find :
    Code:
Sep 23 14:37:12 Aphrodite-Artemis postfix/smtpd[29532]: warning: SASL authentication problem: unable to open Berkeley db /etc/sasldb2: No such file or directory
Sep 23 14:37:12 Aphrodite-Artemis postfix/smtpd[29532]: warning: SASL authentication problem: unable to open Berkeley db /etc/sasldb2: No such file or directory
Sep 23 14:37:12 Aphrodite-Artemis postfix/smtpd[29532]: warning: SASL authentication failure: no secret in database
    Sep 23 14:37:12 Aphrodite-Artemis postfix/smtpd[29532]: warning: localhost[127.0.0.1]: SASL DIGEST-MD5 authentication failed: authentication failure

The thing is, i do not use SASLAUTHD ... So i have no clue why all of a sudden this is giving me errors ...

Any help is very much appreciated ... :(

    Thanks in advance,

    Can you run
    Code:
    ls -la /etc/postfix/
and take a look at the dates? Has any of the files been modified recently?

    What's in your main.cf?

Do you get this error only with RoundCube, or with other email clients (such as Outlook, Thunderbird, SquirrelMail, etc.) as well? If it's only with RoundCube, you should check if it has recently been changed/updated.

    Hey
Its only with roundcube and nothing has changed...
My emailclient uses the smtp of my provider so therefor no iSsues there ...

I could try install new version of roundcube ? :s

So you did not try if it's only RoundCube that is affected?

Nope, problem is that i cant really test it :) my ISP blocks SMTP connections from my home to other SMTP servers.

They only allow the one to their SMTP servers ...

Any other suggestions except updating roundcube ? :p ( which would be the obvious )

    Hmmm
updated to the newest stable roundcube release and the problem persists.
Seems like my postfix might have gotten updated ... :/

But still, i wouldnt know what is really causing this behaviour all of a sudden :/

I was able to get rid of the SASLauthd errors but now im back to square one when i posted postfix issues 2 years ago with server.
Now when i send email i get the crap :

    Oct 6 20:21:07 Aphrodite-Artemis postfix/smtpd[3229]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from localhost[127.0.0.1]: 550 5.1.1 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table; from=<[email protected]> to=<[email protected]> proto=ESMTP helo=<evil-hannie.eu>

    Update 2

update 2 ; i am now able to send mail without any address rejected errors.

However i still get undeliverable reports :

    Reporting-MTA: dns; mail.evil-hannie.eu
    X-Postfix-Queue-ID: 00515CAEE4B
    X-Postfix-Sender: rfc822; [email protected]

    Original-Recipient: rfc822;[email protected]
    Action: failed
    Status: 5.0.0

What does this mean and how can it be fixed ?
