    I followed this howto by falko - http://www.howtoforge.com/virtual-users-and-domains-with-postfix-courier-mysql-and-squirrelmail-ubuntu-12.04-lts

    It is almost entirely working. I can send/receive email locally and can send to external networks, but I can't receive from an external network. I've done some research and made a few changes to my configuration based on what I read.

    This is my postfix main.cf:

    Code:
    root@jonopollard:/etc/postfix# cat main.cf
    # See /usr/share/postfix/main.cf.dist for a commented, more complete version

    # Debian specific: Specifying a file name will cause the first
    # line of that file to be used as the name. The Debian default
    # is /etc/mailname.
    #myorigin = /etc/mailname

    smtpd_banner = $myhostname ESMTP $mail_name (Ubuntu)
    biff = no

    # appending .domain is the MUA's job.
    append_dot_mydomain = no

    The changes I made to the configurations laid out in the howto are from this thread (http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58679) that seems to have been about a very similar problem. However, following those corrections doesn't seem to have fixed anything for me.

    Thanks for any advice in how to get to the bottom of this!
    jono
