After a week of reading several different forum sources and documentation, I am at a loss as to how to get postfix working correctly. I will try and give as much info as I can as to what I have done so far. The reason for doing this is that my isp blocks sending email from this ip address using spamhaus as it is not a business account i would assume. Port 25 is open. telnet xxxxxx.com 25 output: Code: # telnet xxxxxx.com 25 Trying xx.xxx.xx.xx... Connected to xxxxxx.com. Escape character is '^]'. 220 web1.xxxxxx.com ESMTP Postfix ehlo yahoo.com 250-web1.xxxxxx.com 250-PIPELINING 250-SIZE 10240000 250-VRFY 250-ETRN 250-STARTTLS 250-AUTH PLAIN LOGIN 250-AUTH=PLAIN LOGIN 250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES 250-8BITMIME 250 DSN quit 221 2.0.0 Bye Connection closed by foreign host. First my setup is the perfect server setup using Fedora 10 w/ ISPConfig. Domain is registered through godaddy in which i have setup the email address/relay they supply. DNS records are hosted through Zoneedit. I have also added ns4.zoneedit.com and ns15.zoneedit.com to the godaddy custom nameservers. # dig smtp.xxxxxx.com output Code: ; <<>> DiG 9.5.1-P1-RedHat-9.5.1-1.P1.fc10 <<>> smtp.xxxxxx.com ;; global options: printcmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 39612 ;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 1, AUTHORITY: 2, ADDITIONAL: 2 ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;smtp.xxxxxx.com.
