The Windows installer will format the second partition (where you install Windows on) as NTFS.

Actually thats the problem, i dont have another partition on my drive. Just the main drive where linux is installed and is in LVM format which i want to change it to NTFS or partition it in NTFS format.

You cannot install two operating systems on the same partition. And if you change the file system, your Linux installation is lost.

Its ok with me if the linux is erased from the drive. But i dont know how to install another operating system on the same partition as Linux is in LVM format and Vista needs NTFS format to be installed.

The vista installer will do it - just delete all existing partitions and it will create a new one.
