I have successfully installed VMWare server 2.0 on a Fedora 9 following recent tutorial. No error during install proccess

I can launch WebAccess from localhost ( but cannot connect from an other computer :mad: "Server cannot be found "
ip is correct and browser is compatible since it opened an other VMWare server 2.0 without problem!

Great thanks for showing me the right way ;) ;)

Please make sure that the firewall allows access to the ports 8222 and 8333.
    Also, is SELinux disabled?

    Hi Falko,
    Thanks for your answer.
I have completely reinstalled a pc on wich Ubuntu 8.04 and VMware server 2.0 were installed and 100% working. Same ip's and default ports are used.

    Selinux is set to diabled.

Maybe these points can help us solve the problem:

A.When starting a new virtual machine, I got a message asking me to install " VMware remote console plugin". Plugin were installed and VM worked fine. When restarting this VM after reboot, I've been asked again to install this plugin. No more error message now after 3rd reboot!!

    B. Folder " vmware-server-distrib " is still present in same folder were my virtual machines are installed! I don't remember this folder was still present after previous vw server installs !! ??? !!

    C. I found these lines in " /var/log/vmware/hostd.log "

    I hope I gave you enough info ;) ;)

    Great thanks for your help.

    No problem at all !!
I'll backup the virtual machines and try a VMWare server reinstall.
I still can go back to my previous config (Ubuntu 8.04 + VM Ware server 2.0)
The only advantage I had using Fedora as host OS is the compatibility with the Nvidia raid !!

Great thanks again for your help.
