Thanks to all the ispconfig 3 authors,
My ispconfig 3.046 installation is a total success! Now, poor man like me can save much $! :p

My first website runs Apache 2 with suexec, suphp and mod_security. People said it was very secure. ;)

For my second website, it will be doing hosting business. I want it to be fast. So I plan to use Nginx v1. People said it was fast. ;) I also want it secure. For Nginx, is there something corresponding to suexec, suphp and mod_security?

Your first server is slow cause you used suphp. Suphp should not be used for hosting sites, the recommended setup as described in the ispconfig manual is:

    php-fcgi + suexec

Suexec ensures that php is run under the user of the website, so it does the same then suphp is doing, just much faster.

There is no mod_security for nginx available and you should be aware that nginx does not support .htaccess files as used by many cms systems. So nginx is a fast server, but it requires that you or our client are able to write their own rewriting rules. You might want to consider this before you choose nginx, its fast but as most fast systems, it requires more tuning and knowledge to get a cms or website running on it.

    Hi Till,
For an installation with Nginx, is the procedure of creating ssl certificate inside ispconfg3 the same as it is for Apache2 installation?

LxAdmin can't create ssl correctly. Ispconfig3 does it very correctly and simple.
