I am using the Hot To How To Set Up Software RAID1 On A Running LVM System (Incl. GRUB Configuration) (Debian Lenny) on my EBox 1.4 install. (This is using Ubuntu 8.0.4.4)

The problem is when I edit the /etc/mtab/ under section 4 Creating Our RAID Arrays it does not hold the change on reboot.

    Has anyone seen this?

Here is the section from the HowTo----

    Next replace /dev/sda1 with /dev/md0 in /etc/mtab:

    vi /etc/mtab

    /dev/mapper/debian-root / ext3 rw,errors=remount-ro 0 0
    tmpfs /lib/init/rw tmpfs rw,nosuid,mode=0755 0 0
    proc /proc proc rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev 0 0
    sysfs /sys sysfs rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev 0 0
    udev /dev tmpfs rw,mode=0755 0 0
    tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs rw,nosuid,nodev 0 0
    devpts /dev/pts devpts rw,noexec,nosuid,gid=5,mode=620 0 0
    /dev/md0 /boot ext3 rw 0 0
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

here is what my file looks like after a reboot..

    /dev/mapper/hercules-root / ext3 rw,relatime,errors=remount-ro,usrquota,grpquota 0 0
    proc /proc proc rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev 0 0
    /sys /sys sysfs rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev 0 0
    varrun /var/run tmpfs rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,mode=0755 0 0
    varlock /var/lock tmpfs rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,mode=1777 0 0
    udev /dev tmpfs rw,mode=0755 0 0
    devshm /dev/shm tmpfs rw 0 0
    devpts /dev/pts devpts rw,gid=5,mode=620 0 0
    /dev/sda1 /boot ext3 rw,relatime 0 0

    ------------------------------------------------------------

not sure how to get the mtab file to hold the needed change.
