I get the task of setting up a mailgateway in front of the ISPConfig server because of some security-thoughts that management has.

This mailgateway should filter spam and virus'

If i want to do a recipient check on the mail that enters the mailgateway, ie. not accepting email for unknown users / relay domains how should that be done is the best way?

I was thinking that using these files (after a small modification) on the mailgateway:

And then copy the quota part to til mailgateway so its that server that bounces that part.

Is that enough to get it working

This should work. But putting a mail gateway in front of ispconfig is neither nescessary nor useful. Often ispconfig is used as a security and spam and virus filter in front of exchange mail servers, but never heard that someone wanted to put such a system in front of ispconfig. Thats as if you put a security gateway in front of a security gateway.
