Hello, I am a student and my professor asked us to post a question. I am new to Linux and wanted to know what is the best way to memorize the commands? Or anything else that might be helpful for a new user would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Training makes perfect. I myself cannot memorize all of them and have to google most of them, though for some great stuff I do keep them in my bookmark.

It's my opinion, but it seems quite reasonable for a professor to orient students with the many resources for finding information and help, forums included. It's not uncommon that people post a quick question in forums looking for an answer they could easily find in a web search, and those are usually called out around here - but the Linux Beginners forum is an appropriate place for beginner questions and discussion, which doesn't always lend itself to a technical, "correct" answer. I don't generally respond to them myself for lack of time, but certainly don't want to discourage the designated use of this forum.

Learning commands is largely through frequent use. Start with some task/project and work to accomplish it. You'll break things and learn a lot from those times. It also helps to be young, I don't learn/remember as fast as I used to.

I bought MobaXterm pro wich record all the macros I need, but a simple text document should also do the job.
