ISPConfig Web Root

    Is it possible to change the folder where all websites are stored? I would like to use /projects

    Go to "System -> Server config -> tab Web". And change every /var/www/ to /projects or whatever.

    And what permissions should I give to /projects ?

    user: root
    group: root
    permissions: drwxr-xr-x

    same permissions the the /var/www folder.

    But please be aware that some functions like suexec will fail on your server when you change the path as /var/www is compiled into suexec statically.

    To avoid problems with suexec I use apache2-suexec-custom so suexec´s directory can be changed in /etc/apache2/suexec/www-data
