Detailed instructions for making a backup before you update can be found here:

If the ISPConfig version on your server does not have this script yet, follow the manual update instructions below.

Hello, I wrote a topic about ISP Config 3.1 release, so you've told us then that it's planned for releasing in February, but it's still not released. I really don't want to push it, but I just want to ask if it's planned for releasing it any time soon?
    Thanks for the great work!
    Best regards! :)

We are working on the release and as you can see, there is a lot of activity around the 3.1 version:

A first beta is planned to be released soon. As you already noticed, it makes no sense to name any dates as its unlikely that we match that. Similar to the Debian project, we release a software when its ready as we want to deliver a stable software and dont release it full of bugs just to match a date.

I lost connection while at the prompt of:

Didn't get a chance to reconfigure, and running update again didn't work because I'm updated -- can I trigger this manually or I should be okay nothing changed since my last patch/update.

Edit the file /usr/local/ispconfig/server/lib/ and chnage the version number from p6 back to p5. Then rerun the update.

Thank you, that did the trick, glad I asked because few things do happen after that not just cron udpate but postfix and amavis updates and so on.
