Is rhel-5 free?

    I am new learner of Linux. I want to know is RHEL-5 is free? from where I can download it?

    No it is not free, you have to buy a subscription

    Yo can always use CentOS, that's a fork of RHEL.

    Here is the link from redhat "http://www.redhat.com/about/understanding_subscriptions/". according to this we can copy/use/distruibute it.

    It is NOT free. Read complete paragraph again. You can use CentOS, Scientific Linux which are based on RHEL source. They are free and as good as RHEL except few things.
