localdomain is what is says it is: local to the computer you're working on. If you want to access squirrelmail running on a server with IP address 10.0.0.1 with a client PC, that has IP address 10.0.0.10, You need to specify 10.0.0.1 as the address squirrelmail is running on.

If you don't want to enter IP addresses, you need to setup some kind of name based adderssing. Either with a local 'hosts' file on your client PC or setup a local DNS server.
