i have just installed 'the perfect server-centos 5.2' and things went pretty much as advertised. once operational, i plan to go through to get the server on the net.

the router is a linksys wrt54g and i am using one of the linksys ports. my wife and son are using other ports. i used for the my server, but the configuration does not seem to work.

on the router, domain name,ip address, net mask default gateway and dns, and dhcp all belong to comcast.

do i transfer these settings to my server? the reason i am asking and not doing it is i have crashed the system so many times my wife and son threaten to make me use two tin cans and a string to get on the internet. as you probably figured out, i am on my own with this project and am turning to you for any help you care to give.

    thanks in advance

What are the details from the router's status page? Is 192.168.1.x the correct subnet?
