I want to install ISPConfig3 in an Ubuntu server where I have only LAMP software installed, email or DNS software (i.e. BIND, Dovecot, Postfix...) are not installed because I want to use this machine only to server websites with Apache2+MySQL+PHP5.

But I wonder if ISPConfig3 needs email or DNS software to be installed for a proper installation of the panel.

In other words... Can I follow this howto ommiting the email and DNS parts or ISPConfig3 requires ALL packages?

    Best regards!

You can install ispconfig without dns and email. Just ensure that you install a minimal postfix installation, otherwise your wesites will not be able to send emails with the php mail() function.
