Install bins in source or tarballs

    Hi,

    How to install bind in source code or tarballs.

    Basically

    Download the package
    Extract the files
    $ ./configure
    $ make
    $ make install
    Check init script to make sure the service will start automatically.

    P.S. Source packages usually include installation instructions ;)

    if no errors and installed
    than its comes down to what linux OS your using
    like fedora/centos/redhat than it would be like
    /etc/init.d/bind start

    have a look at the readme file that comes with the package ... and it will tell you what to do ... / how to start it < or it should tell you >
