Running the postfix-courier-amavis setup on Sarge, with the maildrop feature installed. I had to throw my server over to a temporary line and mail got slower and slower.
qshape shows huge volumes of mail tied up for hours.
Any suggestions as to why? I can't find anything in the logs indicating why it is taking so long to deliver the mail.

Please make sure that the nameservers that are listed in /etc/resolv.conf are accessible from your server.

That was the problem: the line is a DSL server account and the dhcp supplied DNS was abominable.
I edited the /etc/resolve.conf, the /var/spool/postfix/etc/resolve.conf lines with DNS servers that were quick to respond, did a postfix flush and a postsuper -d ALL to dump the bounced crap and it quickly resolved everything.
Until the server reboots and gets those crappy DNS's again....

Thanks again to my recently passed away Dad, who gave me a library card and a bus pass, showed me how to use their card catalogue, and told me to do my own damned homework and quit bothering him during the hockey game.
