    Dear friends,
is there anybody here that can be help me to setup my sendmail (running Debian ETCH or Sid) with spamassassin for antispam control. My idea is to integrate spamassassin using the milter filter function of sendmail but I can not found any good simple to follow howto. I have also installed spamass-milter package but does not help...

It is much easier to do the same with Postfix. Why do you want to use Sendmail?

    Dear Friends,
after long long searching and browsing I finally found the answer so I wrote it here for all may be interested.
The "trick" is to edit the file (/etc/mail/ and to add there the following lines:

    # spamassassin settings
    `S=local:/var/run/sendmail/spamass.sock, F=,

Then restart sendmail (/etc/init.d/sendmail stop ; /etc/init.d/sendmail start) and THEN YOU HAVE ANTISPAM filter inside your sendmail !!!

    Best Regards,
    Mike Kranidis
